This treatment is used to give back volume in the areas where is has been lost, such as around the nose and mouth area (naso-labial folds and marionette lines). It can also be used to enhance features such as the cheek, jawline and chin area. For lip fillers, please see ‘Lip Augmentation’ and for tear trough correction, please see ‘Redenstiy 2’. Dermal Fillers consist of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). We have plenty of HA in our faces when we are younger, unfortunately as part of the ageing process the amount HA we have reduces. Dermal Fillers allow us to put some of this lost HA back.

Can I have the dermal filler treatment?

A consultation is carried out before the treatment to check suitability and to ensure it is safe you for you have.

Are the results instant?

You do see instant results from this treatment; however, your full results are visible at 2 weeks following the procedure when any swelling or bruising has gone down.

How long do the results last?

Dermal fillers can last between 9-20 months but usually depend on the product used, where the product is placed and the individual being treated.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before this treatment to help make the patient more comfortable. Some discomfort may still be felt.

What are the risks?

As with any injectable treatment bruising, swelling, infection, vascular compromise and nerve damage are potential risks. An allergic reaction to the products used is also a potential risk, it is important to be open and candid before the treatment and follow the aftercare advice to minimise risk.

What areas does it treat?

At Hopkinson Aesthetics we treat the lines around your mouth with dermal fillers. These lines are often referred to as; naso-labial folds, marionette lines and cigarette lines. How does it work?
